Robert Taylor Whaley, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away at his residence on May 10, 2021.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area. Robert was founder and part owner of Bud's Sports Bar on Brainerd Road; and served his country in the U.S. Marines. He loved collecting hats and shoes; and making everyone laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Estelle Whaley; and sister, Jo Ann Brown.

Robert is survived by one sister, Glenda Holsonback; ex-wife, Judy McAuley; lifelong friend and business partner, Andy Dillon; nieces and nephews, Candy Brown, Scott Brown, Darla Sayre, Chris Holsonback, and Greg Holsonback; one daughter; and three grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at Bud's Sports Bar, 5751 Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37411 on Sunday, May 23, at 2 p.m.
