Janice "Jan" Robbins Kinard, left us unexpectedly on Monday, May 24, 2021, for her eternal home in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Elliott Kinard and parents, Toby Armstrong Robbins and Frank James Robbins.

Jan is survived by five step-daughters, Rusha (Bert) Sams, Knoxville, TN, Marsha (Art) Mitchell Knoxville, TN, Cindy (James) Mouch, Larue, TX, Dr. Brenda Kinard, St. Petersburg, FL, and Marilyn (Collins) Leibenguth, Denham Springs, LA; nine grandchildren, Scott (Dr. Jennifer Gramling) Sams, and Jeff (Andrea) Sams, Knoxville, TN, Dr. J. B. (Dr. Audrey) Selecman, Memphis, TN, Wes (Candace) Selecman, Collierville, TN, Rebecca (Daniel) Oates, Buda, TX, Sarah Madkins, Heartland, TX, Kyle (Brianna) Mouch, Pearland, TX, Brook (Judd) Delcambre and Mark Leibenguth, Denham Springs, LA; and 14 great-grandchildren, Whitley Sams, Sammye Kate, John Mark and Andrew Selecman, Ava and Luke Selecman, Rachel and Josh Oates, Remington and
Harper Madkins, Caleb and Matthew Mouch, and Evan and Madeline Delcambre.

She is also survived by her sister, Linda Robbins Weatherly and Harley Weatherly (deceased)of Chattanooga; niece Marion “Sisty” (Barry) Bates, of Chattanooga; and two great-nephews, Taylor (Antonella) Smith, and their children, Aurelia and Roland, and Alan (Lindsay) Smith, and their children, Hailey, Tessa, and James.

Jan spent most of her business career in the investment community in Atlanta, GA and Houston, TX as an executive assistant.  She is a member of East Brainerd Church of Christ and formerly of the Brainerd Church of Christ.  Prior to returning to Chattanooga, Jan and Jim lived in Houston and were members of Sagemont Church.

Jan will always be remembered for her devotion to God, family, and friends.  She shared a special bond with her sister, Linda, throughout her entire life.  Her happiest days were the days she spent in service to others.  Our hearts will be forever touched by her generosity and compassion, and a life well lived by bettering the lives of those blessed to know her.

A private family graveside service was held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on June 3, resided by David Crownover.
