Duncan, William Edward (Cleveland)
William Edward Duncan, 72, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday morning, June 5, 2021 at a Chattanooga hospital. A native and longtime resident of Talladega, he was born on Feb. 5, 1949 to the late Howard and Willa Mae Duncan, and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was retired from the Talladega City Board of Education and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry, Michael, Barbara, Sarah, Grady, Harvey, Larry and David.
Survivors include his wife, Marchell Duncan; children, William Edward Duncan, Jr., Brenton O’Neal Duncan, Solomon Duncan and Amanda Duncan: grandchildren, Uleshu, Alliyah, Brenton, Caleb, Ariana and Evra “Boogie”; siblings, Danny Duncan, John Duncan, Marshall Duncan, Kenneth Duncan, Margaret Kelly, Mary Nell Duncan and Lisa Duncan; as well as several extended family and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 11 from the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
