One of the world’s true gentle spirits, Hayden Eugene Poe, passed away on July 15, 2021.

He bore illness and suffering without complaint.  He reveled in the joy of life and all of God’s little and great gifts.  His passing is made bearable because he lived a full and good life.  He always put others first.  He will be greatly missed and will forever be an inspiration to his family and friends.

Hayden, age 86, is survived by his wife, Ianna Poe; his daughter, Kristi Poe Murray (Ringland Murray, Jr.); his stepdaughter, Kimberly Harris Hawkins; his grandchildren, Spencer Hawkins (Victoria Jiang), Loch Murray and McLean Murray.

Hayden was a devoted husband, father and Christian.  He married Ianna on November 10, 1967 and they were the loves of each other’s lives.  They shared a deep and caring adoration of each other.

He was born on September 23, 1934 in Chattanooga, TN to Beatrice (Layne) and Stanley Poe.  He grew up with his older brother, Billy Poe in Soddy Daisy, TN.  He was a member of the Army Reserves.

He will be missed greatly by his friends, his co-workers from his years at Dupont and his friends at Grace Bible Church.
