A groundbreaking for the Shops of Scottsboro located on the northwest corner of Highway 72 and Highway 35 in Scottsboro, Ala., will be Thursday.
The development was purchased by White Development Company with financing provided by Iberia Bank/First Horizon arranged by MTZ Capital Corporation.
On this 17-acre property, a 46,000 square-foot Publix will anchor the Development along with an additional 30,000 square-feet of retail space for other tenants. The project includes four outparcels, two of which are under contract to Tidal Wave Car Wash and a national bank.
White Development Company is developing the land with support from the xity of Scottsboro. Scottsboro Mayor Jim McCamy said, “We are very excited to join in this partnership with White Development for the Shops of Scottsboro. This is a win for all of Scottsboro and even Jackson County. I firmly believe this will be a transformational development for our community.”

White Development expects the shopping center to be complete in Fall of 2022.
White Development Company is a real estate development firm located in Clearwater, Fla., specializing in Publix anchored shopping centers for the last 22 years. White Development is working with Southpace Retail to negotiate all leases and has multiple retail spaces as well as outparcels available.
