Ivadell West Denny, 98, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021. She was born Dec. 16, 1922 in Eden, NC. She attended New Heights Baptist Church and was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Ivadell married Sam Drewry Denny on February 19, 1944.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Jerry Drewry Denny.
Survivors include her daughter, Dale Elizabeth Schoonover, of Chattanooga; son, James Kyle Denny, of Aiken, SC; sister, Arabelle Smith, of Eden, NC; grandchildren, Diane Carol Gaetano, of Chattanooga, James Michael Gaetano, of Charleston, SC, Abigail Merriman Elder, of Aiken, SC, Ross Alexander Denny, of Savannah, Ga., Amy Elizabeth Landers, of Dahlonega, Ga. and Jerry Drewry Denny, Jr., of Chattanooga; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7 at Ridge View Cemetery in Eden, NC.
