Whitfield County is closing Hurricane Road and Mt. Pleasant Road for cross drain replacements.
The closure at 3761 Hurricane Road will be on Tuesday, Aug. 10, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and until complete or 1:30 p.m. The road will be closed to through traffic.
The closure at 3290 and 3333 Mt. Pleasant Road begins Monday, Aug. 9. This section of the road will be closed for three weeks or until the work is completed.
Traffic north of 3333 will utilize Mt. Pleasant Road to Cooper Road, to Keith Valley to Cohutta Beaverdale Road.
Traffic south of 3290 will utilize Mt. Pleasant Road to Cohutta Beaverdale Road to Keith Valley to Cooper Road. Detour signs will be posted.
