Joy Rungee, 90, of East Ridge, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021. 

 

Mrs. Rungee was a native of Chattanooga and was a graduate of Kirkman High School.  She lived around the world due to her and her husband’s career and the past 25 years in East Ridge. Mrs. Rungee was an executive secretary throughout her career having worked the last five years for ARAMCO retiring in 1987. Currently she owned and operated J&K Farms. Mrs. Rungee’s passion was traveling. She traveled throughout the entire United States, all of Europe, and Saudi Arabia.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Monty” Rungee; son, Martin David “Butch” “Dave” Rungee; and seven brothers and sisters.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Krissi Whitaker; two grandchildren, Ty Whitaker and Tad (Ellie) Whitaker; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend Ronald Gilbert officiating.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
