RICO Case Waste

I read with amazement the article today regarding the exchange between General Pinkston and Ms Wamp.

Look back to when General Pinkston held a press conference announcing the RICO case against the “APB gang members and their associates”. He made a lengthy comment on the investigation and those he accused of crimes.

Ask General Pinkston how many convictions he has obtained from that RICO case.
I can tell you - zero.

Inquire of how much taxpayer dollars were spent on a case that was dismissed. The vast majority of the 53 defendants should have never been charged in Count 1 of that Presentment. It was a simple review of the statute.

How do I know? I represent one of the defendants and was at the forefront of the pre-trial motions that led to the dismissal.

I usually stay away from politics, but this prosecution was wrong and General Pinkston’s statements then and today are wrong.
