Freddie Cox
Freddie Frances Cox, 92, of Soddy Daisy, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 14, 2022.
She was a lifelong resident of Soddy Daisy, born on Dec. 6, 1929, the daughter of the late Bill and Inez Woosnam; granddaughter of the late Fred and Jennie McAllister and Frances and Lula Belle Woosnam and great-granddaughter of the late Evan and Elizabeth Rees and William Robert and Ann Woosnam, immigrants from Wales. Freddie was a very faithful and active member of Soddy United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and also worked for Lometa’s Florist. Freddie served as a Girl Scout Leader, on the Soddy Elementary PTA, where she was past president and also as a homeroom mother. She was very active with the Soddy Daisy High School Band Boosters from 1968-1978.
Freddie was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Cox.
Survivors are her daughters and their spouses; Mitzi and Ronnie Gravitt and Carla and Mike Anderson; grandchildren, Micah Gravitt (Sheri), Mary Rogers (Brad) and Kyle Anderson; great grandchildren, Maggie and Lilly Gravitt, Anna, Rachel and Chris Rogers; cousins, Eddie Crawford, Fred Rees Skillern (Bettye) and Bobby Ellen Springfield (Miles); several nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Todd Kingrea officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Soddy United Methodist Church, 255 Depot Street, Soddy Daisy, TN 37379.
