  • Friday, November 25, 2022
The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team wraps up a three-game homestand with a non-conference tilt against mid-major power Murray State on Saturday evening as part of a day-long doubleheader inside McKenzie Arena.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+ which follows the women's contest against King Univ. at 1 p.m. ET. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.

Chattanooga (2-3) is coming off a narrow, back-and-forth, 72-66 loss to Lipscomb (4-2) on Wednesday inside the Roundhouse.
The Mocs and the Bisons each led for 16-plus minutes as the two teams saw 11 lead changes and 10 ties throughout the contest.

Jake Stephens led the team with 18 points and 10 rebounds while adding three assists during the loss. Demetrius Davis (12), Dalvin White (11) and Jamal Johnson (10) all reached double figures in scoring. UTC surrendered a 65.4% (17-of-26) field-goal percentage to Lipscomb in the second half and allowed 28 points in the paint over the final 20 minutes.

Murray State (3-2) enters the game on Saturday following a successful showing in last weekend's Myrtle Beach Invitational held in Conway, S.C. The Racers finished in third place with a 2-1 record, recording wins over Texas A&M (88-79) in the first round and Tulsa (77-60) in the consolation game.

The lone loss for Murray State in the Myrtle Beach Invitational came in buzzer-beating fashion against UMASS, 71-69. The Racers are led by Steve Prohm in 2022-23, who returns to MSU following a highly-successful four-year stint from 2011-15 in which he led the team to a 104-29 record during that span.

Fans can watch the game LIVE on ESPN+ through the Watch ESPN and ESPN App platforms or fans can also listen LIVE on WFLI 96.1 FM/100.3 FM/ 1070AM in Chattanooga as well as the Varsity Network app.
