U.S. Navy Veteran Retired After Long Career With Flav-O-Rich Dairies

Ralph Dudley Winston, 94, of East Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.

Mr. Winston was born in Chattanooga, on December 27, 1927, the son of the late Percy Winston and Nettie Barker Winston. He proudly served in the United States Navy. Mr. Winston retired from Flav-O-Rich Dairies after many years of service. He was a longtime attendee at First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Winston loved his family and grandchildren. He was a huge Braves fan, loved his UT Vols, and was an avid golfer. His favorite past time was having breakfast each morning with his buddies at Old South Restaurant.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Winston was preceded in death by seven brothers.

Survivors include his wife who loved him dearly, Betty Patterson Winston, to whom he was married on May 18, 1951; a daughter, Tyra Jordan (Don); two grandchildren, Chad Jordan and Cambrey Little (Corey); sister, Wanda Minion; brother-in-law, Charles Patterson; two special nephews, Lynn Patterson and Jerry Patterson (JoAnn); and three special nieces, Phyllis McCoy, Sheila Miller (Ray), and Jenna Gadd (Chris).

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Feb. 25, at 3 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Chapel. A private interment will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Friday from noon until the funeral hour at Heritage Funeral Home.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Philip McCoy, Randy Burt, Scott Roberson, Chris Gadd, Gary Miller and Danny Roberson.
