Clyde Harris
Clyde Jones Harris, 95, of Soddy Daisy, and formerly of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at The Bridge in Ooltewah.
He was born in Dayton on March 22, 1926, the son of the late Robert Barnett Harris and Ida Tennessee (Bishop) Harris. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lucille (Sneed) Harris.
Clyde was raised in Dayton but had lived in Hamilton County for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II, was self-employed as a furniture upholsterer, and enjoyed gardening. He was a member of Christ Family Church of God in Soddy Daisy.
He is survived by his two sons, Larry (Sherry) Harris of Hixson and Tony (Teresa) Harris of Rudy, AR; his daughter, Donna (Rick) Youngblood of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his sister Reba (Jack) Hutsell of Dayton.
Graveside funeral services for Clyde with military honors will be held at Rhea Memory Gardens in Dayton on Friday, March 11, at 4 p.m. with Rev. Sam Youngblood officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Rhea Memory Gardens.
