James Bergdoll Elected President Of Sports Field Management Association

James Bergdoll, director of park maintenance for the city of Chattanooga Department of Public Works since 2015, has been elected president of the Sports Field Management Association.

SFMA is the non-profit, professional association for men and women who manage sports fields and oversee facilities at schools, colleges and universities, parks and recreational facilities and professional sports stadiums.

The association and its members are critical to ensuring safe playing surfaces for communities across the country to enjoy and excel.

Mr. Bergdoll also oversaw the group’s recent rebrand to SFMA, intended to improve its reach and education among young people to show field management as a promising career path.
