Chattanooga native, and resident, Thomas Persinger, launched Marithyme Seafood Company in 2018 to fill a void he saw in the Chattanooga community: high-quality, wild-caught seafood –delivered to the doorstep.

What started as a home based business has grown into a nationwide service bringing "the world’s best seafood" to the home kitchen. Whether it’s Alaska, the Gulf of Mexico, or the cold waters of Iceland, customers rave about the quality and convenience.

“Seafood is daunting for most home cooks, but it shouldn’t be,” said Mr. Persinger. “We include easy recipes with every order and offer countless more on the website.”

All of Marithyme’s seafood is flash frozen at the time of harvest to preserve peak flavor, nutrients, and freshness. “Fresh is relevant,” said Mr. Persinger. “Would you rather eat fish that’s been refrigerated for 10 days or fish that was frozen within hours of being caught?”

Seafood that is marketed “fresh, never frozen” has likely traveled for a week or more before being displayed at the grocery. “Every day that fish is not frozen, it’s quality is diminishing,” said Mr. Persinger.

"Seafood is not cheap. And current market conditions don’t look to be correcting themselves anytime soon. So if you’re going to spend the money, why not eat seafood as if you’re dining ocean-side, right next to where the fish was caught. That’s why we all gorge ourselves on seafood when we're at the beach, right?"

According to the FDA, adults should consume 8-12 ounces of “best choice” seafood at least once a week, including salmon, haddock, cod, and shrimp. Marithyme carries all of these and more.

"The easiest way to incorporate seafood into your diet is to have it on hand and in your freezer," said Mr. Persinger. "Let Marithyme do the heavy lifting by sourcing it ethically and sustainably, packing it, and delivering it to your home."
