2022 City Amateur Women’s Golf Championship Tees Off Monday

The Annual Chattanooga Women’s Amateur Golf Championship will be held at the Ooltewah Club starting next week on Monday. The Team Competition Is June 13 and Individual Play will be held June 29-30.

The Team Competition with teams from the Black Creek Club, the Brainerd Golf Club, the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club, Council Fire Golf Club, Creeks Bend Golf Club, the Lookout Mountain Club, the Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club, Valleybrook Golf Club, and Windstone Golf Club will be held on Monday.

There will be 42 players competing in the individual play championship to be held on June 29 and 30.

Any amateur woman golfer in the local area is invited to participate in the individual competition and all of the local golf clubs that are members of the Chattanooga Women’s Golf Association enter teams in the team event. This year there are 25 teams representing the various clubs competing in the team event, which starts at 9 a.m.

The CWGA holds this competition every year. Founded in 1937 it has approximately 110 members from the member clubs throughout the county. The Tournament Committee this year is headed by Hazel Davis, and is being assisted by Judy Acuff, Lindsay Berry, Meg Buchanan, Reecie Harvey, Lynn McGee, Judi Pressman, Jeanie Reedy, Darlene Werhnyak, Evelyn Marie Williams, Sandra Yoder and CWGA President Pam Potter.
