Aleph Bet Children’s Center’s 20th Anniversary Begins With A Deli Day

Aleph Bet Children’s Center, a Three Star and Gold Sneaker childcare center and preschool, begins celebrating its 20th anniversary on Thursday, Sept. 15 from noon-1:30 with a Deli Day at the Jewish Cultural Center, 5461 North Terrace Road. Deli Day is free with a donation to Aleph Bet.

Officials said, "Why Aleph Bet Children’s Center? This Center with fewer than 40 children, has programming from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.  Aleph Bet Children's Center provides an educational, interactive and developmentally-appropriate elementary prep program, enriched by Jewish traditions and values. The Center serves children ages two through pre-k of all faiths, nationalities and cultures, and promotes a diverse learning environment.

"The two-year-old through pre-k classrooms incorporate active, hands-on learning experiences, including art, music, movement, math, science, in-school field trips and early literacy,

"Children attending Aleph Bet come from diverse religious, ethnic, economic and racial backgrounds. When need is determined, assistance is provided from the State of Tennessee and other sources. 

"The Center’s staff has a combined amount of over 100 years of early childhood education experience and is multi-lingual (Spanish, French, Italian and English).  The Center’s Director, Rebecca McDonald, has 29 years in early childhood education and served eight and a half years as a state consultant at the Department of Early Care and Learning in Georgia. She has a masters degree in child development and a bachelors in child health. Ms. McDonald currently serves as a Georgia court appointed special advocate for foster children."
