Colonel Edna Cummings (U.S. Army Ret.) Lectures On The 6888th Central Postal Battalion June 21

Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park invites the public to join them at the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center, 3370 LaFayette Road in Fort Oglethorpe, on Saturday, June 21 as they host Colonel Edna Cummings (U.S. Army Ret.) for a lecture and book signing.
 
Colonel Cummings will discuss how the 6888th Central Postal Battalion became her heritage, their history and the path to the Six Triple Eight's Congressional Gold Medal. Colonel Cummings was the driving force and advocate for the 6888th being awarded this medal.
 
She will also be signing her book, “A Soldiers Life, A Black Woman’s Rise from Army Brat to Six Triple Eight Champion," from 10-11:30 a.m., and again after her 1 p.m.
