The City Beer Board on Thursday gave a temporary beer permit to organizers of four events taking place in September. The Three Sisters Bluegrass Festival will be held for the 15th year at 201 Riverfront Parkway/Ross’s Landing on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. On Friday night the festival will be from 5-11 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. Sponsored by the Fletcher Bright Company and produced by Carla Pritchard with Chattanooga Presents, the free concert will feature bluegrass music with a mix of national and local musicians with traditional and untraditional styles, said Ms.
Pritchard. There will be food trucks and beer will be sold. Security will be provided with nine off-duty Chattanooga Police and six private security guards.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will hold a fundraiser, Tennessee Xtreme Hike. A temporary beer permit was approved for Saturday evening, Sept. 24, when there will be a pre-hike dinner for the close to 40 participants. The dinner that Saturday night will be at 307 Manufacturers Road from 5-10 p.m. where there will be a roped off area for a beer garden. A 12-mile hike on the Cumberland Trail, North Chickamauga Section on Signal Mountain, will follow on Sunday. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has a goal of raising $50,000 from people sponsoring the hikers.
The Crabtree Farms Fall Plant Sale this Saturday will be at from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Crabtree Farms, 1000 E. 30th St. The festival includes live music throughout the day, vendors, food and beverage sales. With the temporary beer permit that was issued at the beer board meeting, Hutton & Smith Brewing Co. will be selling the beer. There will also be hayrides and yard games at the event.
Shane Morrow with RISE Chattanooga was given a temporary beer permit for “4 Courses and Supper Club/Whisky Festival.” It will be held at Miller Plaza’s Waterhouse Pavilion at 850 Market St. from 5-11 p.m. The supper will be on Friday, Sept. 23, with around 450 people expected. For the Whisky Festival the next day, the crowd is expected to be over 1,000. Chattanooga Police and private security from Global Protections will be present. IDs will be checked as people enter and wrist bands given and there will be signs to mark the boundaries where alcohol is allowed. All proceeds from the event will go to the culinary arts program at Brainerd High School.
