Laura Alice Gloria Rivers Eubanks, 86, passed away on September 19, 2022, at her home in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Laura graduated from Howard High School and Cleveland State Community College. She was a retired LPN having worked at St. Barnabas Nursing Facility and Memorial Hospital. She was a founding member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Laura served faithfully with the Pastor’s Aide Ministry, Deaconesses, Mothers’ Ministry, and she sang in the choir.

She was a devoted, loving, resilient mother to all who came her way. Her love and faith will live with us forever. Our Mother will be truly missed.

Laura was a faith-filled and fear-free, virtuous, Christian woman. Her love, loyalty, prayers, and compassion for others is unmatched. Her faith in God transcends through everyone she smiled upon. Laura loved to sing, pray, mother the kids, and show love unconditionally.

Her prayers always mentioned everyone in her family, especially her multitude of grandchildren whom she raised on Carousel Rd.

Laura was a phenomenal woman who you could count on. Her sense of duty, faith, community, and love for her children will live in our hearts forever.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Mae Wise Rivers and Thurman N. Rivers, Sr; siblings, Thurman N. Rivers Jr., Ulysee Rivers, Sr, Cordia Mae Crawford, Yvonne Edwards, and Beulah Elizabeth Rivers Finley; sons, Tyrone Rivers, Zackery D. (Natalie) Oliver, Sr, and Gerald Linder; grandsons, Xavier D. Oliver and Trill Wright; nephew,Timothy Rivers.

She leaves to cherish precious memories, Eddie Eubanks, children, devoted daughter and caregiver, Dena D. Burks, Travis T. (Priscilla) Rivers, Sr., Kerwin(Deanna) Rivers, Todd Linder, and Will Linder, sibling, Erma Jean Rivers Morris; thirty-six grandchildren including, 
Terrance (Brittney) Graves, Temeka Rivers Robinson, Zackery D. Oliver Jr., Tri'ene D. (Amanda)Davenport, Randall E. Davenport, Travis T. Rivers Jr, Ashley Rivers, Tenisha Rivers, Taurian Linder,Darrius Trollinger, Danielle Oliver, ReShauna Holmes-Rivers, and 
Darin (Shermika)Holmes-Rivers; more than 36 great-grandchildren; special caring niece, Kimberly Boyer; a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423 622-9995.

Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery, gate time 1:30 p.m.
