Lee's Dorm Wars To Take Place Oct. 3, Raise Money For Boys & Girls Club

  • Friday, September 23, 2022

Students from across the Lee University campus will come together Monday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. in the Paul Dana Walker Arena to compete in Lee’s 29th annual Dorm Wars.

Dorm Wars will bring over 1000 students and guests to Walker Arena to witness fierce competition between various residence hall representatives. Lee’s Residential Life and Housing designs the  event to test energy, skills, strategy, and speed in order to determine who will win.

“I am really excited about working on the event for the second year in a row,” says David Kahoun, coordinator of Dorm Wars and resident director of Hicks-Brinsfield. “It’s an honor and privilege to keep the tradition alive!”

The competition will pit teams of residence hall representatives against one another in a series of obstacle courses, relay races, and a “couch race,” all while raising money for a nonprofit organization benefiting the local community. Other Lee staff members will be involved as officials and scorekeepers.

At the end of the night, residents from one traditional female dorm, one upperclassman female dorm, and one male dorm will walk away with the coveted title of “Dorm Wars Champion.”

This year’s residence hall partnership will benefit The Boys & Girls Club of the Ocoee Region, which strives to offer safe and encouraging places to go during out-of-school time and to enable all young people to reach their full potential as caring, productive, and responsible citizens.

Dorm Wars admission is free and open to the public. The event will also be available for live stream viewing at leeu.live

For more information, email Mr. Kahoun at dkahoun@leeuniversity.edu or Dr. Jarad Russell, director of Residential Life and Housing, at jrussell@leeuniversity.edu.
