Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church Announces Selection Of A Pastor

  • Friday, September 30, 2022

The Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church members voted on Saturday to end the search for a new Pastor for their historic church. Minister J. Brandon Ross has been selected as the pastor for Hawkinsville MBC, effective this Sunday. Minister Ross hails from Knoxville.

"Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church members welcome Minister Ross and his lovely wife, Pinky Ross," official said.

A reception will follow the inaugural message from Minister Ross. The pastor search committee, headed by Minister Johnny L. Johnson, reached out to local area ministers to bring the "Word" or message each Sunday while, at the same time, holding interviews for those interested in leading the church's congregation.

Minister Johnson said, "We thank God for his grace and mercy during this process. To God be the glory."

The former pastor of 37 years, Rev. Dr. Bobby L. Hampton, Sr., retired as the church pastor in December 2020.

The Church plans a formal swearing-in ceremony for Minister Ross later in the year.

The Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church is located in New Tyner at 7463 Pinewood Dr.
