GreenTech Homes has launched The Farmstead, described as a neo-traditional community with resort-style amenities located just minutes from downtown Chattanooga. GreenTech is the largest master planned community builder in Hamilton County, and The Farmstead is their newest neighborhood to hit the market, officials said.

“Building community first is at the center of what we do, and The Farmstead embodies the features and characteristics of what homeowners want in a neighborhood today,” said Jeremy Fitzsimmons, director of development at GreenTech. “The homes and streetscapes encourage interaction among neighbors, and the community spaces invite people to gather and create countless memories.”

The Farmstead employs neo-traditional design, often called new urbanism, which is a town planning principle in contrast with a suburban environment. Neo-traditional neighborhoods are more compact communities that are walkable, bikeable and close to home and work as well as other destinations.

Officials said, "Located in Hixson, The Farmstead is close to major employers as well as downtown Chattanooga and Hamilton Place. Its premier location provides easy access to shopping, dining and entertainment."

Within the community, the amenities include a centralized clubhouse with a full kitchen and exercise equipment, a large resort-style pool, a dog park, a pickleball court and other sports activities. The neighborhood also features a community plaza for live music and events, food truck hook-ups for gatherings and multiple fire pit zones for family and community engagements.

Officials said, "At every turn, the design offers spaces meant to be enjoyed. It has acres of centralized green spaces for relaxation and activities. Lamp-lit sidewalks lead the way throughout the neighborhood, and front porches are adorned with gas lanterns."

“We believe the vibrant streetscape will entice community members to get out and enjoy their neighborhood and get to know their neighbors,” said Mr. Fitzsimmons. “We also carefully crafted the homes to fit within the community’s lifestyle and feel, with options for all stages of life.”

Phase 1 of The Farmstead is currently under construction and will include 80 homes with 240 total planned. The first homes under construction are designated for The Founders of The Farmstead, customers who made an early decision on putting down roots in the community.

“We are excited for the vision and designs that GreenTech has for The Farmstead community. We love the architectural designs of the homes and the community plaza that they have planned,” said future resident Elya Kurktchi. “We are repeat customers and happy with our GreenTech homes, and we chose to continue to partner with their team because we like how they tailor our home to our lifestyle.”

Ranging from 1,600 to 4,000 square feet, there are more than 17 home plans available, which include multiple elevation options and exterior choices. Customers can customize more than 20 structural features such as covered patios, bump outs, fireplaces, parking options and more. The Farmstead features various garage options including up to a three-bay garage. Home pricing will start from the mid-$400s.
