Lester Jay Brown
Lester Jay Brown, 66, of St. Ignace, Michigan died Tuesday, January 3, 2023 in his home in Cleveland, Tennessee.
He was a father of 12, a Navy veteran, a devout Roman Catholic, a Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus, an active member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, and long-time employee at Bowater. Lester was known for his community service and charitable nature. He never hesitated to give of his time and labor to make his community a better place and provide for those less fortunate. He took pleasure in the small things in life, such as a baseball game, a clever pun, the perfect Saturday morning pancake, or sharing a neighborly conversation over the fence.
Lester is preceded in death by his parents, John and Wanda Brown; and his brothers, John and Leon Brown. He joins his beloved wife of 39 years, Felicity, in the clearing at the end of the path.
He is survived by his sister, Cindi Styles; his brother, Timothy Brown; his children Maryska (husband Chris), Cassandra, Anna-Marie, Hugh (wife Liz), Arwen, Eowyn (husband Will), Pluto, Carmelita, Thomas, Robert, Gwendolyn and Malachi ("Ty"); his grandchildren, Cosette, Reed, Hugh, James, and Ronan; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 900 Clingan Ridge Drive NW, Cleveland, TN. Date to be announced.
