Bobbie Jean Mayes was born on November 11, 1946, in Macon, Georgia. She departed this life on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at her home in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Willie Felton Ross, Sr. and Eula Lee Jones Ross; brother, Willie Felton Ross, Jr.; two granddaughters, Danisha Davis and Jasmine Davis; former spouse, Claude F. Mayes; sister, Johnnie Mae Ross-Maxwell; daughter, Stephanie Anne Mayes.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Vincent Allen Mayes; three daughters, Cassandra M. Mayes, Sonia M. Mayes, and Camellia D. Davis; three sisters, Joanne Billingslea and Frances Norwood both of Chattanooga and Mattie L. Wigfall of Macon; 20 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, at the funeral home.

A noon funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 6, at Rossville Church of Christ, 1100 McFarland Ave., Rossville.

Interment will take place at Forest Hills Cemetery.
