A lightning bolt has struck the leaders of this lovely municipality formed largely by developer Charles E. James overlooking the Tennessee River on the expanding “mountain top growth” problem in 2023.

Perhaps the decision of the mayor to meet with the heads of Walden and Hamilton County may become a beacon of light to other communities that continue to enjoy maximum growth and the benefits of increased traffic, crime, homeless migration, etc. that lead to more progressive development. As our Gig City moves forward to surpass Hot Atlanta (7 million plus happy souls) it must be mentioned that Choo Choo town was larger than the Georgia capitol before the “War to Suppress the Rebellion” (Yankee title).

If additional thunderbolts could strike the mayors and councilpersons of the other “incorporate to avoid annexation” locales in Hamilton County, perhaps “moderate growth” rather than “massive growth” might become more fashionable!

(The developer friendly Hamilton County Planning Commission and their allies might feel differently!)
