U.S. Army World War II Veteran Lived To 102

Robert Neal Simmons, Sr., 102, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

He was a member of the United States Army Signal Corps (USASC), and was stationed in Burma during World War II.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Billie Sue Brown Simmons; his son, Robert Neal Simmons, Jr.; and grandson, Curtis Simmons.

He is survived by his daughters, Teresa Simmons, and Linda (Scott) McFadden; his grandsons, Burke Johnson, Clint Power, Robert Neal Simmons, III, and Joe Simmons; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the graveside in Chattanooga National Cemetery, at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 24, with Reverend Bill Harvey officiating.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
