Steven Walter France, 73, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 in a local healthcare facility.

He was a loving husband and devoted father, and was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. He studied at the University of Virginia and was retired from a career in finance at BFC Capital. He was an avid horticulturist and loved flowers, particularly orchids. He also enjoyed track and field events, and was a fan of the Washington Redskins and his Virginia Cavaliers.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Quintie and Walter Powell; his parents, Grover France and Lois Barrett; and his father-in-law, James Eli Reno.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila France; his children, Major Tyler Cline of the US Army, and Cindy France of West Virginia; three grandchildren, Colt Chrisopher Cline, Riley Elizabeth Cline, and Kayla France; a sister, Linda Charvet (Harry); a brother, Bobby Barrett; and his mother-in-law, Francis Bernice Reno. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A small private service was conducted at 5 p.m. Monday, March 20, in Birchwood, Tn. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes concluded the service.
