Events in the area to honor Vietnam veterans include:
• March 28 - Chattanooga City Council Proclamation stating, March 29 as Vietnam Veterans Day. Vietnam veterans are asked to be at the Chattanooga City Council Meeting Room, 1000 Lindsay St. at 5:30 p.m. to accept the Proclamation.
• March 29 - Hamilton County Commission Proclamation, stating March 29 as Vietnam Veterans Day. Vietnam veterans are asked to be at Hamilton County Court House, 625 Georgia Ave. at 8:45 a.m. to accept the Proclamation.
• March 29 - VVA 203 will serve food at the Walmart Parking Lot, Highway 153 in Hixson from noon-4 p.m.
• March 29 - The Hamilton County Mayor & Commission will honor Vietnam veterans with a ceremony on the Courthouse lawn at 625 Georgia Ave. starting at noon.
• March 29 - Mission BBQ will serve free sandwiches to all Vietnam and Vietnam-Era veterans, from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
• March 31-April 1 - VVA 203 will be at the Walmart on Highway 153 in Hixson collecting donations.
