Mary E. Peoples, 95, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2023.

She was the fourth and last surviving of five siblings born to the late Joe and Julia McGhee.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Walter Peoples and her beloved great-granddaughter, Mariah.

Mary was young at heart with a cheerful personality and a bright smile that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

As a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was the happiest spending time with and nurturing her family – especially her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her son, Larry Manley (Eileen), her cherished granddaughter, Lacey Henson (Todd) and great-granddaughters, Alexx, Maddie and Abby, her great-great grandsons, Rowen, Jakobi, Branson and Justin, who were all the light of her life, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for the family will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

To honor Mary’s great love for animals, in lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions be made to the Humane Education Society.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
