Young Artists Collaborative Concert Schubert Mass In G Is Sunday

The Chattanooga Girls Choir, Chattanooga Boys Choir Cantabile choir and the Chattanooga Youth Symphony will combine for a special presentation Mass in G by Romantic era composer Franz Schubert at First Baptist Church (401 Gateway Ave.) on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The youth ensembles will also combine to present works including Andre Thomas' setting of the Langston Hughes poem I Dream a World and Chattanooga composer Roland Carter's arrangement of the powerful anthem Lift Every Voice and Sing.

Each ensemble will also present individual pieces as part of the special program featuring several youth performers.

Conductors include Kimberly Keck, Ismael Sandoval, and Jeff Parker. Soloists and collaborative keyboardists include Janelle Wagoner, Darrin Hassevoort, Vincent Oakes, John Wigal, and Jenny Parker.

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to help offset expenses for the program.
