Peacefully surrounded by her family, Eula Mae Land Patton Long, 85, passed away on May 24, 2023.

She was born on May 3, 1938 in Gilmer County, Ga

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald William Patton; her parents, Reverend Earl and Mora Land; her brother, Carl Land; and her sister-in-law, Mary Land.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, C.L. Long and her children, Rhonda Patton Wilbanks (Jim), Anthony Patton (Melissa), her “adopted” daughter Penny Tracy (Tim), Lamont Long (Norene) and Candy Ammons. She was a loving and devoted Nana to her grandchildren, Tiffany Amos (Josh), Caleb Patton (Tanya), Morgan Patton and Alex Bennett (Mason). She was also an incredible and doting great-grandmother to Riley Mae Amos, Eleanor Louise Amos, Grayce Arlow Patton and baby girl Arlie James Bennett (arriving in August); brothers and sisters, Nancy Land Parks (Dwayne), Ronald Land, sister-in-law, Genell Land; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Her love for her husband, children and grandchildren was second only to her faith and her love of God. She was a member of Varnell Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 28, from 12-2:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home.

A home going celebration of her life will be held at Varnell Baptist Church on Sunday May 28, at 3 p.m.

Burial will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Varnell Baptist Church Summer Youth Camp.
