The traditional teaching of history has virtually been done away in the American Education system with substantial variance between all fifty states.

However if you have a cable television package that includes the Smithsonian Channel, a series of one hour programs (2007-2019) on each state are informative and provide both negative and positive facts about important people, places, and events in particular states.

Each American jurisdiction is filmed from above and provides an interesting travelogue on a wide variety of known and interesting facts unique to each state.

Artfully moderated by Jim Conrad the early historical beginnings up to the last few years are presented in an informative dialogue.

(Perhaps parents can encourage their inquisitive children to not ignore history of the past, present, and future? These programs can be a good start!)
