CHI Memorial has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval and the American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Thrombectomy Capable Certification.  Mechanical thrombectomy is a minimally-invasive technique used to remove blood clots from the brain.

“I’m extremely proud of our team’s dedication and commitment to improving outcomes for stroke patients in the Chattanooga area,” said Jennifer Patterson, PhDc, ACNP-BC, ANVP-BC, CCRN, FHM, director of neuroscience operations, CHI Memorial.  “Removing a clot from the brain restores blood flow which reduces the risk of long-term effects and improves quality of life for patients after a stroke.”

Officials said, "The CHI Memorial Neuroscience Institute has an internationally-renowned medical team to combat stroke and its potentially deadly and debilitating effects.
As a Thrombectomy Capable Certified Center, it offers fast and highly effective treatments for stroke including clot-busting medications and the most up-to-date, minimally invasive therapies where clots can be mechanically removed (thrombectomy) from the brains of stroke patients within minutes.  Learn more at memorial.org/stroke."
