Powers, Glenn A. (Benton)

Glenn A. Powers, 73, of Benton, passed away, surrounded by his family, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

He was born on Jan. 19, 1950 in Chicago, Il. to the late Kenneth J. and Lillian B. Powers.

Glenn attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed watching football, always a loyal Chicago Bears fan. He was known for his strong voice and trying to make people happy, yeah buddy!

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved furry companion, Whistlebritches.

Left to cherish many memories include his son, Michael (Katie) Powers; sister, Terry Peters and family; brother, Ken (Karen) Powers; niece, Katie (Kevin) Belz; nephew, Kenny (Lauren) Powers; grandchildren who he never had a chance to meet, Andrew, Daisy, Lillian, Violet and Aaron Powers; great-nephews, Alex and Henry Belz; great niece, Elodie Belz; cousins, Jim Heilig, Joann Wilson and Tim Padgett, along with their families. A host of friends also survive.

Friends and family will gather from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
