MacDowell Music Club Of Chattanooga To Hold Free Concert Nov. 6

The November meeting of the MacDowell Music Club will be held at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 1505 North Moore Road next Wednesday at 11 a.m.     

The concert is free, and guests are welcome.  

Included on the program are local artists Allyson Ford, soprano, and Dr. Alan Nichols at the piano, as well as the Poiema Trio, a performing group currently on tour in the Chattanooga area.

Ms. Ford is president of the Walker County Chamber of Commerce and is the director of music at Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church in Lookout Mountain, Ga.  Dr.
Alan Nichols is a professor of music at Chattanooga State Technical College and is the pianist for the Chattanooga Symphony.  Members of the Poiema Trio include Ann Yu - violin, Nathan Francisco - cello and Anran Qian - piano.  Ann Yu and Anran Qian are graduates of the Juilliard School, and Nathan Francisco is currently enrolled there.

The MacDowell Music Club provides an opportunity for talented local musicians to perform in public and is intended for individuals who want to contribute toward the advancement of music in the Chattanooga area for future generations.
