A Creative collaboration in Chattanooga brings a new animated short film called “The Boy and the Dragon” to life.
Storyteller Shanna Forrestall, animator Alex Tucker and musician Jeff Gold have joined forces to create the film, which offers viewers an immersive journey into a world where friendship, imagination and magic collide.
Officials said, "Both Ms. Forrestall and Mr. Tucker, proud locals, have seamlessly woven their creative talents to craft a heartwarming narrative that explores the timeless theme of holding onto the magic of one's inner child.
"The film marks another milestone in Ms.
Forrestall's illustrious career, spanning over 18 years in film, TV and digital content. Known for her diverse skill set, Ms. Forrestall has produced compelling content as a writer, producer and performer, and since 2020, her dedication to 'positive and impactful' storytelling has expanded in her work with Jeff Gold under the "My Calm World" banner.
"Mr. Tucker, the mastermind behind the animated visuals, leads a double life as a library clerk by day and a visionary animator by night. His expertise in graphic design and animation has earned him accolades, including the prestigious ADDY award in 1996. In 'The Boy and the Dragon,' Mr. Tucker's animations breathe life into the characters, bringing an extra layer of enchantment to the storytelling."
“I loved working on 'The Boy and The Dragon,'" said Mr. Tucker. "It’s a wonderful reminder that one’s inner child never truly disappears; it just takes a moment to rediscover where we left it.”
Officials said, "Mr. Gold, a seasoned composer based in Los Angeles, known for his spiritually uplifting instrumental music, has contributed an original score that adds depth and emotion to the storytelling. With over 15 million streams on platforms like Amazon, Apple Music, Spotify and Pandora, Mr. Gold's compositions have resonated with a diverse audience, making him a perfect collaborator for this whimsical project.
"'The Boy and the Dragon' is not just a cinematic experience, but a testament to the power of collaboration and creativity."
Ms. Forrestall, in reflecting on the project, said, "It was an absolute honor to work with the talented Alex Tucker. I had admired his work from afar and was genuinely floored when he agreed to help us bring this story to life. I believe the reminder that we all can and should keep our magic is crucial to keep our world a place we enjoy existing."
