Attorney Terry Olsen of Olsen Law Firm in Chattanooga has been elected for a seventh time as the chair of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Immigration Law Section, and a third term as chair of the Tennessee Bar’s International Law Section.

The TBA represents the entire spectrum of the Tennessee legal community—attorneys and judges across Tennessee. It is a strong advocate for the profession and the development and maintenance of the justice system.

As chair of both the TBA’s Immigration Law Section and the TBA’s International Law Section, Mr. Olsen will engage with attorneys, and law school students across Tennessee who practice, and/or study immigration law and international law. Along with this, Mr. Olsen will assist with creating, and implementing educational programs which serve the law community across the state. Mr. Olsen has also served as chair of the TBA’s Tax Law Section, and continues to serve as an executive council member of it.

With his roles as chair of both the Immigration Law Section and International Law Section of the Tennessee Bar Association, Mr. Olsen is also currently the Principal Designated School Official and Responsible Officer for Meharry Medical College. Additionally, Mr. Olsen has been the American Immigration Lawyers Association liaison for the USCIS Nashville Field Office.

Mr. Olsen served as chair of the Chattanooga Branch of the British American Business Group from 2012-2014, and he served as chair of the World Trade Society of Chattanooga from 2004-2008. Mr. Olsen has also served as adjunct faculty in the Executive MBA Program, and Aspire Program at Bryan College.

Mr. Olsen is active at an international level, having been a host to trade delegations in the Chattanooga area from countries including China, Russia, South Korea and Taiwan. He has organized several International Education Initiatives and acted as a liaison with numerous educational institutions, both in Taiwan and locally in Chattanooga. This includes establishing a Memorandum of Understanding between Kaoshiung Medical University (Taiwan), and Meharry Medical College.

By actively participating in government discussions of law and policy, Mr. Olsen is a participant with the agencies governing immigration and international law issues, rather than being an observer on the sidelines. He continues to proactively enhance immigration and international law practices in the Tennessee Area.
