Paul Edwin Stancil II, 74, of Chattanooga went to heaven on Sunday, July 28, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving children, family and friends.

Mr. Stancil was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church. He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and a successful businessman as an insurance agent and owner of Paul Stancil Insurance and Sunbelt Insurance Group. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed many games of golf with his father, son, uncles and cousins plus business associates. In his younger years he enjoyed men's softball and sponsored several teams. He was a very generous man and helped numerous people. He also sponsored holes in various charity golf tournaments.

Mr. Stancil was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Edwin Stancil and Winifred Stancil.

He is survived by daughters, Tiffany (Curtis) Goldsmith, Julie (Jammie) Campbell, son, Paul Edwin Stancil III (Dana). Grandchildren, Morgan Stancil, Drew Bolano (Delaney), Jessica Goldsmith, Madi Goldsmith and Peyton Stancil; great grandchildren, Maleah Stancil, Brantley Stancil, Layla Goldsmith, Clayton Combs, Denver Wilson and Aspen Goldsmith.

Mr. Stancil is also survived by his sister, Debra Stancil Brooks (Allen), nieces Dawn Bailey and Christy (John) Smith, and several close cousins. His cousin, Jimmy Stancil, was as close as a brother and friends Paul Lezon and Jack Godwin were lifelong friends that were close to him and faithful to the end.

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1, at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel, 404 S. Moore Road, Chattanooga. The family will also receive friends at 11 a.m. on Friday with the funeral immediately following at 1 p.m. Burial will be immediately following at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Close friend and cousin, Rev. David Stancil will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Morgan Stancil, Drew Bolano, Russell Stancil, Paul Lezon, Allen Brooks, Hunter Taylor and Jack Godwin.
