Retired From Rock-Tenn After 39 Years

Glenn Edmund Smith, 88, of Ringgold went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

A resident of the North Georgia area since 1969, Mr. Smith retired from Rock-Tenn Co. after 39 years of service.

He was a member and former deacon at New Liberty Baptist Church.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Bennie Ruth Smith; son, Kenny D. Smith; and sister, Linda Donoho.

Mr. Smith enjoyed fishing, crafts, helping others and loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Galen (Pam) Smith, Debbie (Rick) Gray, Randy (Cindy) Smith, Jeff (Kim) Smith; daughter-in-law, Debbie Smith; sister, Bonnie Seaford; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 5, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 5, from 12-1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
