Longtime Employee Of TVA And Active In Her Church

Edna Hammett New, 95, of Chattanooga and Trenton, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2024.

Edna was a follower of Jesus, long-time employee of TVA, and member of Highland Park Baptist and, later, Rising Fawn Baptist Church. She taught children’s Sunday School and worked to support missionaries for many years.

Edna is survived by two children, a son-in-law, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Edna’s Life will be held on Thursday, Jan. 16, at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel at 2 p.m.

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m..

Burial will be in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South in Rossville, on Friday at 12 p.m.
