Mary Catherine Jennings, 100, of East Ridge, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

She was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church and had been active in Women’s Ministries, taught Sunday School, served as the church librarian and was leader of Girl Scout Troop #259. Mrs. Jennings was a fantastic mother and grandmother and took all the children and grandchildren to the beach.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, George Jennings; parents, Claude and Martha Higdon; three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her daughters, Lynette Crowe, Elaine Ross and Jane (Larry) Sewell; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.– 12 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday at Forest Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Bracken officiating.
