Two of Cleveland’s longest serving printing companies, Dick’s Graphics & Printing and Carroll Printing Company, announce a joint business merger. The 50/50 merger will go into effect on March 1 under the new business name of Century Printworks. The two businesses combined have served the community for over 120 years.
Century Printworks will be located at 1001 South Lee Highway in Cleveland, the current location of Dick’s Graphics & Printing. Century Printworks has acquired additional space for an expansion of the operation at 1003 South Lee Highway.
Carroll Printing Company’s last day of business at 180 1st St. NE will be Feb. 21. During the transition period, customer service and printing will continue to be available to customers of both companies at Dick’s Graphics & Printing.
Carroll Printing Company has been in business since 1952. Founded by Ralph Carroll, Carroll Printing Company was operated for many years by Jackie Carroll and Lavoy Jones. In 2019, under direction of Ty and Andrea Boddeker, Brooks Screen Printing and Carroll Printing Company merged to provide a larger offering to customers. Tasha and Heath Sullivan purchased Carroll Printing Company and Brooks Screen Printing in Summer 2022.
Dick’s Graphics and Printing was originally opened in 1978 by owner Dick Briggs. Jennifer and Joe Callahan purchased Dick’s Graphics and Printing in May 2011. Although the owners have changed hands a couple of times over the past 47 years, the company’s goal to offer the highest quality printing and excellent customer service has never changed, said officials.
“Our goals include continuing to deliver quality products, services and communication," said Ms. Sullivan. "We are excited to unify with the Dick’s Graphics team to create a printing powerhouse. We look forward to exploring new ways we can serve our employees, clients and community."
Jennifer Callahan said, “Since 2011, we have added additional products like, screen-printed and embroidered apparel, signs and banners, specialty decals, tags, and promotional items like cups, pens, and virtually anything you want your name or information on! This merger will allow us to grow with the ever-changing needs in the printing industry and offer our customers even more.”
