Gloria M. Brown, daughter of the late Clure and Arrie Belle Neely, was called home by her loving Savior on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, as she was surrounded by family.

Gloria was raised in Middle Tennessee before spending much of her adult life in Chattanooga. She returned to Middle Tennessee just a few short years ago to be closer to family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Gary; son, Timothy Shawn Brown (Tim); sisters, Arrie Neely, Linda Faye Neely, Rose Witham, Jorene Bradford, and Treva McHugh; brothers, Clure Glen Neely, and Ricky Neely; and brothers-in-law, Wayne Malone, and Chuck Brown.

Gloria is survived by her son, Jeff and wife Susie Brown; her grandchildren, T.J. and wife, Taylor Brown, and Chelsea Brown; sisters, Brenda Malone Bryan and Larry, and Reta Jones and Nathan; brothers, Randy Neely, and David Neely; brother-in-law, David McHugh; and a host of nieces, nephews, and more. She is also survived by dear friend and flea market buddy, Betty Renner.

Gloria loved and served in powerful ways. She was instrumental in caring for the needs of so many. Her family meant everything to her, and she loved and cared for them well. Gloria was a faithful member of the Body of Christ. She loved that her son was a minister of the gospel and loved to hear him preach. In her final years, she was a member at the Kingwood Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, but much of her adult life was spent serving in the Tiftonia Church of Christ (currently Brown’s Ferry Road) in Chattanooga. There isn’t enough time, or space, to share all the ways that she made lives better for those that knew her. She will be sorely missed but will remain in each of our hearts until we are reunited again for eternity.

Visitation with the family will be on Friday, March 21, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 1 p.m. Visitation and services will be held at the Brown’s Ferry Road Church of Christ,159 Browns Ferry Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37419 with minister and son, Jeff Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens West.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brown’s Ferry Road Church of Christ, or to the Kingwood Church of Christ benevolence fund.
