Police Help Deliver Baby On 1-24 - And Other East Ridge Police Calls

Day Shift March 19: B Squad

I-24 Exit 183 – Back EMS
Police help deliver a baby stuck when the expectant mother became stuck in traffic on the way to the hospital.
East Ridge Fire Department showed up afterwards. EMS arrived to transport the mother and her newborn infant to the hospital.

 

200 BLK Lynncrest Drive - Assist EMS
Police responded for an unknown medical call regarding an elderly male possibly experiencing a stroke. On scene, units found the doors to be locked and ERPD and ERFD forced entry through the front door due to the patient being incapacitated and unable to unlock the door. The individual was transported for medical care.

1500 BLK Burns Ave – Theft
Officers responded to this address about a reported theft. A neighbor reported observing a male, estimated to be in his early to mid-20s wearing a camo or colored jacket with black athletic pants, enter the fenced area of the property and take a white, Specialized bicycle before riding away. The owner of the bicycle described the bicycle as off-white in color, “Specialized” written down the main frame, and having a black water bottle holder. The reporting party advised she will provide the serial number if located

3508 Ringgold Road- SIA/ Arrest
An officer observed a black Honda Pilot attempting to evade them on Ringgold Road. While observing the vehicle it entered the parking lot at the above address and a female occupant was stopped trying to walk towards an unrelated business. The male occupant attempted to evade police by walking to the rear of a completely different business across Ringgold Road and refused to stop for officers, however, was ultimately detained after continued attempts to walk away. Upon a search of the suspect vehicle, 62.2 Grams of suspected Fentanyl, 18 Grams of suspected methamphetamine, and two firearms were located. A large amount of cash was also seized in relation to the suspected drugs. The male driver was also found to have three (3) forfeiture capias warrants through the East Ridge Police Department. Both individuals were transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

Night Shift March 19: D Squad

400 BLK Lynncrest Drive – Burglar Alarm
Police were dispatched for a kitchen door alarm after the resident left home with the door ajar. The false alarm was communicated to the alarm company.

601 Justice Way – Warrant Service
A man was extradited today from Georgia and was served two Eastridge Warrants at the Hamilton County Jail for Forfeiture Capias with an original charge of Possession of Drugs and Possession of Paraphernalia. He is currently held on bond.

3200 BLK Ardian Road – Unknown 911
A woman requested a wellness check for her daughter at her ex-husband’s home. The homeowner was cooperative with police and allowed a search for her inside his home. She was not located, and the ex-husband stated he hasn’t seen her in 8 months.

800 BLK Summit Avenue – Property
A party called to report the theft of his driver’s license and two credit cards which he believes occurred on Sunday. Police spoke to the victim and advised him of resources available.

3900 BLK Ringgold Road – Burglar Alarm
Police responded to a burglar alarm. All doors and windows were secure with no signs of intrusion. False alarm.

601 Justice Way – Warrant Service
A man was served two forfeiture capias warrants and a capias for arrest for probationer for failure to appear while in custody at the Hamilton County Jail. The original charges were possession of meth for resale, possession of meth while driving, and driving on suspended.

5900 Ringgold Rd.-Traffic stop/Arrest
Police conducted a traffic stop on a bicyclist after it was seen going west in the east bound bike lane while not having any lights. Officers identified the rider and were notified he had two active arrest warrants through Sessions court. Police placed him into custody. A post arrest search located narcotics on his person. The subject was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.
