Mark Gray Cambron II, 76, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, at his home in Chattanooga, TN.

Born to the late William and Betty Cambron, Mark lived most of his life in Chattanooga. Mark proudly served in the Navy from 1968-1974, where he was later honorably discharged. Mark made his career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee and retired after many years working as a manager and business analyst.

Following retirement from BCBST, he dedicated his time to volunteering at Boyd-Buchanan School. There he served as a coach to the softball and volleyball teams and also assisted the basketball and football teams. Mark was inducted to the East Tennessee Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame on April 30, 2022, receiving the George L. Hunter Distinguished Community Service Award for his years at service to Boyd-Buchanan School.

When not working or volunteering, Mark had a passion for collecting baseball cards or being around the game of golf, whether that was playing or just going to the driving range with his son.

Mark is survived by his son, Zachary Cambron, brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Nancy Cambron, James and Lana Cambron, and brother, Chris Cambron, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

The family would like the thank our caregivers from Cornerstone Caregiving and the nurses from Hospice of Chattanooga for the loving care and support that they provided Mark and his family.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 23, from 2-6 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel at 404 S Moore Road, East Ridge, Tn.

Graveside services will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Monday, March 24, at 10:30 a.m.
