Dr. Joy Hudson
At the 15th Annual Links Day at the State Capitol on March 15, the Chattanooga Chapter of The Links, Incorporated honored Dr. Joy Hudson as the Voting Honoree for Tennessee Linking Democracy, Justice, Voting and Education in Nashville.
Officials said, "Dr. Hudson, a retired educator, has had a distinguished career as the director of special education, school psychologist, and educational consultant. Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to advancing education and empowering students, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.
"Even in retirement, Dr.
Hudson remains deeply committed to community service and is a member of several community organizations. She dedicates her time and expertise within the community to volunteering, serving others and the Lord’s church, and supporting social action initiatives. She has played a key role in voter registration, successfully registering individuals and advocating for voting rights to ensure that all community members have access to vital information.
"Dr. Hudson finds great fulfillment in contributing to a variety of community projects and causes. Her leadership in various organizations has strengthened civic engagement and improved voting access. Dr. Hudson’s unwavering dedication to service, combined with her leadership and passion for positive change, has earned her widespread respect.
