Diana Walters
Dear Boomer Friends,
Undoubtedly you’ve heard the expression, “All good things must come to an end.” Hmm, that seems a pretty negative adage. And I don’t think it’s necessarily true. Love is good and doesn’t have to end. When you love someone deeply, you still love them when they’re gone. Faith doesn’t end. If you’ve given your heart to the Lord, He will be with you always.
However, it IS time for me to end this column. Even though I’ve enjoyed writing it, and as much as I love hearing from readers, it is time for me to move on. Thank you for following along as I have ruminated on aspects of the aging journey.
As you might remember, my husband has been undergoing some health challenges that require much of my attention. In addition, I am attempting to sort out 25+ years of “stuff” in preparation for a move to a smaller space in Dunlap. And trying to work my part-time job (extremelyP.T. at present.) In other words, I don’t have the energy to keep up a weekly column.
When my life settles down, I plan on making many of my columns, or parts of them along with other writings, the basis for a devotional book for boomers. STAY TUNED.
A last reminder: Try to stay physically and mentally active. It will help you continue to live your best life possible.
And remember what the Lord says in Isaiah 46:4, "I will be your God throughout your lifetime — until your hair is white with age."
That's another very good thing that doesn't end.
