James Donald “Don” Moore
James Donald “Don” Moore was born on February 23, 1952, in Trenton, Georgia. He passed away comfortably at home in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee on April 16, 2025.
He graduated from North Sand Mountain High School in 1970.
Don worked as a mechanic in the Chattanooga area and spent his career building lifelong relationships with his clients. His career was coupled with his passion for classic cars. He enjoyed buying, selling and restoring them alongside his family and friends. Instilling the same passion in them is a testament of who he was and how deeply he loved. You would find him in the garage with his kids, grandkids and friends, teaching them and passing on his abundance of knowledge to the generations behind him. Don was a gentle and quiet but strong leader of his family, loving sacrificially and never turning his back on anyone in need. He enjoyed and loved every moment in life with his family and was deeply rooted in his values of honesty and loyalty, as evident by the abundance of friends, family and customers who knew and loved him. His grandchildren were his biggest joy, and spending time with them is his greatest legacy. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, customers and the community in which he lived and loved well.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ethel Moore, his brothers, Billy Moore and Doyle Charles Moore, and his sisters, Myra Dell Watson and Linda Moore.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife Lisa Moore; daughters, Lindsey (Phil) Dyar and Heather Cobb; grandchildren, Jared Fitzpatrick, Cole Fitzpatrick, Nevaeh Dyar and Aubrey Fitzpatrick; Special Niece, Tammy (Doug) Knowles.
