The Children’s Nutrition Program of Haiti announces its annual “Heart for Haiti” Benefit, taking place at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday at The Signal in Chattanooga. This event, the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, comes at a time of unprecedented need for Haitian families facing extreme hardship, officials said.
This year’s benefit will feature guest speaker Chad Bissonnette, president and co-founder of Roots of Development, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local Haitian partners in efforts to improve the quality of life in their communities.
Mr. Bissonnette will share insights on the current crisis in Haiti, lessons from his organization’s work, and highlight opportunities of needed support in Haiti through resilience and long-term solutions.
Officials said, "In recent months, Haiti has been facing severe challenges, making this benefit more critical than ever. Haitian families are struggling to access food, healthcare and basic necessities – with one in five Haitian children remaining chronically malnourished."
“Our community has been at the forefront of providing lifesaving services to children and mothers in Haiti for more than 25 years. Chattanooga has a Heart for Haiti, and our mission needs your support this year—more than ever,” said Kathryn Bolles, CEO of the Children’s Nutrition Program. “This benefit is not just about raising funds—it’s about standing in solidarity with the families and children in Haiti who are in dire need of life-saving support.
“Due to the generous support of our donors last year, CNP was able to provide over 100,000 units of treatment to malnourished children across southern Haiti, deliver health preventive care services to more than 30,000 infants and children and more than 20,000 women and mothers and fully rehabilitated 1,135 severely malnourished children who would have otherwise not survived.”
Proceeds from the Heart for Haiti Benefit will go directly toward CNP’s nutrition, healthcare and community-driven programs in some of Haiti’s most vulnerable areas. Attendees will enjoy an inspiring evening with a silent auction, heartfelt stories of impact and an opportunity to be part of the solution for Haiti’s future.
